about Hernan Vera Alvarez

Hernán Vera Álvarez is a writer, cartoonist, and editor. He has taught literature and creative writing at various institutions, including Florida International University and the Koubek Center at Miami Dade College. His personal essays and articles have appeared in The New York Times, The Hong Kong Review, Latin American Literature Today, El Nuevo Herald, Nueva York Poetry Review, Loft Magazine, La Nación, and Clarín. Originally from Argentina, Vera Álvarez has interviewed many internationally acclaimed writers, including Adolfo Bioy Casares, Sergio Ramírez, Sandra Cisneros, and Laura Restrepo, as well as celebrated musicians such as Carlos Santana, Maná, Gustavo Cerati, Charly García, Gustavo Santaolalla, Juanes, and Paquito D'Rivera. He is the author of award-winning books, including “La librería del mal salvaje” (Florida Book Awards) and “Don't Cry for Me, América” (International Latino Book Awards).
